Heavy Fighting Reported in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, Somalia (Maqaal.com) - Heavy fighting between coalition forces of the TFG of Somalia, Ethiopian troops and AMISOM troops on one side and armed militia opposed to them is continuing at this moment in some parts of the Hodan district in Mogadishu. Both sides are using heavy weapons.

The sound of artilary and shells can be heard in areas far from the epicenter of the fighting.  The fighting started 5:40PM at Mogadishu time and is concentrated at the Tarabun, Taleh and KM4 areas.

It is not clear yet the casualties and damages the war has caused. Undoubtedly, though, there will be casualties as both sides are using heavy weapons.

It is not the first time fighting occurs in the these areas of the city.

Maqaal.com is closely following the situation and will report any developments on the fighting as soon as possible.
